Meeting Dr. Marion Paris, Oral Surgery Specialist, practicing guided surgery since 2004 at Ardentis dental clinics in Morges, Vevey, EPFL, and Renens.
What is guided surgery?
Guided surgery is an advanced technique that allows implant placement assisted by computer technology.
Thanks to specialized software and digital imaging, the positioning, angle, and size of implants can be pre-planned based on the patient’s anatomy and the desired aesthetic outcome.
On the day of implant placement, the surgeon uses guides that enable precise positioning of implants, exactly following the prior digital plan.
What are the benefits for the patient?
The surgical procedure is faster, less invasive, and simplified, leading to gentler postoperative recovery.
What are the benefits for the practitioner?
It provides valuable assistance, improving the precision and predictability of the surgical procedure.
What is your experience with this technique?
I began studying this technique in 2004 as a resident under one of the pioneers, Dr. Fortin at Lyon University. I continued practicing guided surgery as a hospital-university assistant in Lyon, then in private practice in Switzerland and France, serving as a Lecturer and Hospital Practitioner at Rothschild Hospital in Paris.
Naturally, I am passionate about developing this practice within the Ardentis dental clinics for the benefit and well-being of our patients.
